10.4 Rog Quadron Remix

Good ol 10.4 is back with a remix of Quadron's Average Fruit. I never heard the original version, but this guy really mellows me out and puts me in a good mood as I watch the snow melt. The flip at the end is great surprising outro.

Bellingham Wonder Kid

Photobucket

Sooooooo low and behold the Aaliyah 'Are You That Sombody' remix ive been playin for ever comes out of Bellingham of all places. Cedaa is killing thingz and homeboy cant even get into a club yet. I need to get him down here ASAP.

via the XLR8R

Pacific Northwest bass producer Simon Ho (a.k.a. Cedaa) is another young music maker taking a page or two out of the footwork/juke playbook for his own tunes, although Ho likes to call his sound Bellingham bounce. So leave it to newly minted XLR8R scribe Dave Quam—who wrote this fine article on the Chicago-based genres for our latest print issue—to sign three of Ho's tracks for the first release of his new imprint, the cleverly titled Free Bass. The opener of Cedaa's Old Growth EP is "Escalade," probably the closest relative to footwork featured on the release. All the key attributes are present: incessant vocal samples, woofer-cooking bass, breakneck 808 beats, and halftime claps. Yet Ho still manages to make those trademark sounds his own with the injection of more melody into his low-end, a serious helping of warm synth pads, and a particular sheen uncommon in your average Chicago-born footwork production. You can download the whole Old Growth EP for free via Quam's It's After the End of the World blog, here.

Treevenge!!!!

Holidays are coming, so please be careful picking out your holiday Christmas trees. This film was a part of the Rawstock Media night that also premiered Buffalo's "Every Day Is A Journey". Everything that evening was beautiful, from "Lemonade" to "The Bartender" to this, which was probably my favorite.

Icing - Linus Aristotle Remix

OC Notes has put a spin on last year's hit with THEESatisfaction with a version that features harp and glockenspiel. As I enjoy the original better, this one definitely is perfect on this slow, relaxed, snow filled morning.

White Fang plays Burgerville

Our friends at Into The Woods have been doing so well lately, and I'm happy to show you one of White Fang over the summer when they played at Burgerville. Here they are playing "Grateful To Shred" & "Portland Sucks". I'm excited to have the PDX crew back up in Seattle as I am excited to be in PDX on the 24th.

Candidt - Imaginary Stereo

This is by far my favorite song album off of Candidit's album and this really makes me wish Summer was still happening. I am finally blogging again (new computer) and I'm glad this is one of the first things I can put back up. Candidt shows nothing for love for the entire community and it's nice to give back.

Katie Kate - Constellation

Miss Kate has dropped her first video for the song "Constellation". I must say it is a pleasure and an honor to work with such a talented woman. She continues to inspire me and motivate me to make cool shit. She plays Comet on the 19th which was the last poster I made before the computer died, so expect another one this week. For now, enjoy this:

P Smoov - Kryptonite Pussy Remix

Hi.

I'm P Smoov.

A while back I made this remix to Yo Majesty's song "Kryptonite Pussy". I have watched it murder dance crowds for a while now, and I though to myself " Hey Peter, how bout you let all your friends have this song for free." So that's exactly what I did. So download it now, dummy.

Mad Rad @ Can Can

Mad Rad played the final gathering of City Arts Festival this year at The Can Can. It was a tight squeezed sweaty party to say the least. Buff got a little banged up upon hitting his head on my knee a few times. Here are some great photos from Nate Watters.
