Many a star has produced a Boom Shaka Laka tune, from Apache Indian to Junior Reid, but now Douster offers up a BSL club track for 2011, as part of his new EP dropping on Mad Decent's new sister label, Jeffery on the 22nd of December. In the words of the producer himself: ‘On that Bubblin/Freestyle/Carnival tip, those are meant to be played LOUD!’.
Bebup is a newborn record label curated and managed by Benjamin “Blanco” Collet and Dj & Producer Hugo Douster.
The label isn’t focused on one specific genre but works more on “coup de coeur” from us. We want to give opportunities to unknown producers begining in the music game but also provide a playground for established producers that wants to experiment.
Our first release, planned for Mid-January is from young and gifted french newcomer Roma who drives us into a dark, yet trippy, bass journey into the life of a suburban french youth. The second one is from Latino American techno supergroup Grupo Ecuador. We’re then gonna keep the next releases oscillating between new wave feelings, afro-pop rhytms, soulfull house and future rap.
Assuming that our tastes in music will be predominant for our releases, we decided to build a little introductory mix showcasing our influences. Since you can’t resume a whole life of music (as young as we are) in a 45 min mix, be sure it’s just the first of a long serie.

Headed down to Winners Circle right now to pick up the new Mad Rad tee's for Bumbershoot. We wanted to tie it in with recent release of Douster's 'The Youth Die Young' remixes. Head down to Seattle Center this Sunday to cop yours. We play the Fisher Greeen stage at 2:15.
Lyon, France based tropical dance DJ/producer and global bass alchemist, Douster releases remix EP of Mad Rad's The Youth Die Young. Tied closely to Zizek Records after spending two years in Buenos Aries, Douster takes cues from his love of hardstyle, house, bass, cumbia, dancehall, and rap to transform club music into a sonic gumbo. Douster has put out remixes for Rusko, Gucci Mane, Toddla T, and released singles with Diplo, Savage Skulls, and Chilean producers Zonora Point. Now, he puts his spin on the electronic hip hop rumble of Seattle's Mad Rad. The remixes see Douster veering into future Chicago house, half time speed merengue / half space juke, Miami acid bass house, and ambient 808 machine funk. The Douster and Mad Rad combination is a mix you can sink your ears into.
Mad Rad is a Seattle based group that has shaken up west coast hip hop with their combination of electronic focused dance music and frenzied live show. The Youth Die Young is their second full length album, and the band has been supporting it hard by relentlessly touring and playing the Northwest’s largest festivals. Douster got to know Mad Rad’s music after playing a show with the group’s DJ, Darwin in 2009. They exchanged music over the next couple years, chopped it up over Flocka’s new mix tapes, and established a like-minded musical rapport. Douster touched down in Seattle earlier this year for a show, and when he heard tracks off the new record first hand in the studio, it became obvious remixes needed to happen. Now, for your free downloadable listening pleasure, we give to you: Douster’s The Youth Die Young remixes.

Back in early 2009, i was living in Buenos Aires when my homeboy Federico (arcade) gave me that sort of argentinian party break. It was basically some old dude yellin things like "toda la manitos en el aire" and other party tings . I did a whole track around the CARAJO! sample in a kinda bassline meets kuduro vibe. It was quite a hit back then and since i never did anything with it, i wanted to share it with y'all !
Our boy Douster just dropped this track with Diplo today and in his words is "the summer banger". I must say there are definitely some other Douster tracks I am looking for most notably the remixes he has been working on with Mad Rad. I can't help but toot our own horns, okay? Chilean rappers Zonora Point & French producer Douster have teamed up for the Puerto de Palos Mixtape that drops today.
