to get everyone geared up for the
RETURN OF PHIZZ coming up on 2/25/10 at the Can Can i have reworked some old snaps from PHIZZ on 5/23/08. this was a very special night for everyone involved. a lot of people that are killing it in Seattle hip-hop now met for the first time at this show.
below are a few pics of Champagne Champagne before Sir Thomas Gray was in the mix. it's impossible for me to imagine them without Thomas at this point but a Champagne show was still electrifying in those early days and why i chose to show up and shoot this night. you can see Larry Mizell Jr. and Bruce Illest get their first taste of Champagne in the first one!

the pic below was taken after the show and i was told by Larry Mizell Jr. that this was first time he had met Pearl Dragon (and i think maybe the Mad Rad guys too?).
DJ Swervewon i see you!

this was first time i met Bruce Illest and Mr. Mizell myself. at this point there was no They Live!(now
Mash Hall) and they were in an outfit called
Cancer Rising that played Sasquatch a few days after this.

also i witnessed my first Mad Rad show on that fatefull night and made some awesome and inspiring friends. the night overall was a legendary moment in Seattle music and the beginning of the "3rd wave".
