Tactic / Supremo EP

Photobucket

My main dudes in Portland, Ben Tactic & Lincoln are some solid dudes. They grind. Tuff. Ambassadors of pushing the most future thinking Bass music parties in PDX. Got a chance to play with them again last month at Holocene and as always, had the time of my life flexin' wit em. The dude Ben just kills it on the moombahton tip. Not big hands in the air rave anthems, but sexy vibes to make girls sweat their week long troubles away type stuff. Peep the press release below and lets get to dancin'

Portland Oregon via Kansas City dj & producer Ben Tactic brings some thick tropical vibes with his new Supremo EP on Think 2wice Records. Both tracks are firmly rooted in moombahton, the much talked about new dance music genre that fuses elements of reggaeton, cumbia, dancehall and Dutch house. The title track, Supremo, fuses the traditional dem bow drum patterns found in moombahton with a classic b-boy sax sample and percolating synths. The second track on the release, Coroa de Ouro (Crown of Gold), is built around a sample of children singing in Portuguese.

Ben Tactic is best known as 1/2 of the dj & production duo Tactic along with Brent Tactic. Their remixes and original productions have been released on labels such as Mad Decent, Dress 2 $weat (Numbers), Palms Out Sounds, Slit Jockey and their own label Think 2wice. Ben also helps run the ground breaking club night Bubblin in Portland that has featured the regional debut of artists such as Roska, Dave Nada, Ramadanman, Kyle Hall, Nguzunguzu, Distal and Dre Skull.
