The homie in Phila, just dropped volume 2 of his series on V-Day, and wanted to share it all with you. I'm at least hoping Mizell appreciates this. And I must say I love his criteria for the mixtapes.

"About 10 minutes into creating my “Best of Philly Disco” mix in 2009, I immediately realized that at least one, if not two sequels were necessary. In trying to represent so many facets of this prolific time in Philly’s music history (and make a tasteful mix), I realized that one mix couldn’t cover it all. Here again are the criteria I used to select the tunes:

1. Made by a Philly-born/bred artist
2. Made by an artist on a Philly record label
3. Written/Arranged/Composed someone strongly associated with the Philly sound
4. Played by a Philly label’s house band

Volume 2 is dedicated to the memory of the great Teddy Pendergrass, who passed away in 2010."

Kenny Raw - Left Handed Scissors

Kenny Raw is a Philly OFS representative that is dropping his production album tomorrow. The reason I am back on the east coast is to play a show with him and show full support for my guy. He has worked with me in the past on my solo stuff and I'm glad to see him put out this instrumental production album. He is mainly a 45 record guy and I must say he has records for days which is apparent when you hear sample after sample after sample.



I will be returning to Seattle with hard copies packaged in limited edition silk screened cases, so if you'd like one give me a holler.

Recess x Saturdays Mixtape

Hey Greg,

Here's that mixtape I recorded a couple of days back. A couple of turntables and 30 tracks of summer fun. Thought I should put something together for rocking out at the Capitol Hill Block Party this weekend. Summer's here and in Seattle that means everyone's out of their caves and ready to party. I'm known for playing a variety of different styles of dance music depending upon the party and certainly have no shame in putting together a more populist mix. Starts off with a hip house vibe and includes a bunch of party jams. My next one might be on an eclectic dubstep/bass music tip. Or maybe dark techno. I love it all.
